Additionally, with a VAP430 Stream Player, users can access everything the web has to offer in addition to whatever they have on their PC. People who visit can find out more about the many options they have with their Vizio HDTV. With TV apps, users can access more than just movies-there's sports, news, social networking sites, photos, music, and more, all available at the fingertips. This V.I.A.-enabled HDTV also features the Yahoo! Connected TV Store, which offers over 180 free and paid TV apps from popular brands like Amazon, Fandango, QVC, USA Today, Pandora, Showtime, and more. With V.I.A., users can pull up such favorite programs as Facebook, Twitter, Netflix, Hulu Plus, Flickr, Pandora, Rhapsody, VUDU, and Yahoo! TV Widgets. The E3D320VX is one of the TVs being offered with Vizio Internet Apps (V.I.A.), a service that gives users instant access to full web content without using a computer or set-top box. Passive 3D does not have as much depth or intensity however as active. The 3D feature in this TV is passive 3D rather active 3D which yields good color rendition and possibly less strain on the eyes. This is very impressive result for an LCD TV of this price and size category. There was very slight degradation of black levels and contrast from side views but not extreme at all. Viewing angles are surprisingly strong on this LCD TV. The LCD panel is good with glare but also provides a flat picture appearance compared to better plasma and LED-LCD TVs. We are impressed by the light flow through on this TV as well. Color information is more saturated and the edges of images clean and sharp. HD picture on the E3D320VX is much better than standard definition images. The backlighting used is LED rather than the traditional CCFL florescent backlighting normally used in this screen size. This 32" HDTV is also is also 3D compatible which is almost unheard of in a 32" size TV. Vizio will have many new features for 2012 and includes many on the E3D320VX. This will help reduce the chance of image retention in the future.Vizio E3D320VX 32" 1080p 3D LED TV with Smart TV You can leave this image on the screen indefinitely, since it has no distinct elements, so it won't cause image retention.Īnd while you have the setup disc playing, be sure to select the Standard or THX picture mode and set the basic picture controls (Contrast, Brightness, Color, Tint, and Sharpness) to their optimum settings. (Interestingly, the Digital Video Essentials: HD Basics Blu-ray does not have full-screen white and gray fields.) Display the 100-percent white field for a while, and you should start to see the ghost fade. Otherwise, you can get the Digital Video Essentials setup DVD, which has full-screen fields that fill the entire screen with white or gray at a uniform intensity. Since the image is constantly changing, there is no risk of image retention if you display it for long periods of time. The program displays randomly changing video noise, such as that shown above, at different resolutions, which you can run for 30 minutes to two hours or more. It's called "Plasma TV Logo Removing DVD," and it's available here in either NTSC or PAL format. This should help reduce or eliminate the ghosting you see, though it might take a few runs.Īs I was researching this question, I came across a downloadable video that can be burned to recordable DVD. After you engage the scrolling bar, you can turn it off by pressing any key on the remote (except Power), or it will disengage automatically if you do nothing for 15 minutes. The one you want is called "Scrolling bar," which scrolls a vertical white bar across an otherwise black screen. However, neither of these are likely to solve your problem. Like all Panasonic plasmas, the G15 provides several "anti image retention" features in the Setup menu, including the ability to display gray sidebars on the sides of a 4:3 image and a "pixel orbiter" that shifts the image around by a few pixels every so often. In that case, I would think you'd see ghosting elsewhere in on the screen in addition to the station logo. Leaving a static image on the screen for an hour shouldn't cause permanent burn-in, though it could result in temporary image retention. Will I be stuck with this, or is there a way to remove it? Now, in bright or snowy scenes and during older movies in which blacks are noisy and brownish gray, I can see three streaks where the station's logo was. I don't think this was during the break-in period. I have a Panasonic Viera TC-P42G15 plasma TV, and there is some ghosting in the bottom-left corner I had a news channel on pause for over an hour with the contrast set to 100.
